    Description

    Here is a nice Starrett 436 outside micrometer set that measures from 0" to 12". These micrometers have been used so you will find some scratches, scuffs, a ding or two, some missing paint, and other cosmetic imperfections but nothing that will hinder their usefulness. All of the thimbles spin easily without any hesitations. The locks and ratchets all work, some ratchets are easier to work that others. The 1" to 2", 2" to 3", and the 4" to 5" have carbide tips and read into the .0001". There are 11 standards and 3 small adjustment wrenches (not photographed) for making minor adjustments included. The standards all have some discoloration and a few have some minor pitting. This is all on the surfaces that are not important. The important parts (the ends) look and feel great. All of this is kept in a fitted black case. It is also in very good condition. It still looks great, opens and closes easily, locks shut, and holds these tools securely. It has done a very good job of protecting these micrometers and will continue to protect them for years to come. The last  photo shows you the some biggest flaws of this set. The previous owner scribed numbers on the thimble of the 1" to 2" and the 2" to 3", scribed Machine Shop on both sides of the 4" to 5" and the 5" to 6", and I.P.G. on both sides of the 6" to 7". Please don't let these minor imperfections detract from what is otherwise a very nice used set. I try to describe everything to you so there are no surprises when you receive your tools. This is a nice used set of micrometers. Please look at all of the photographs as they can help describe the condition of these tools much better than I can.
